These performances were an exploration of institutional constructs and the individual relationships within these,. he ‘One-to-One’ performance was originally conceived for no.w.here’sRecessional Aesthetics event at James Taylor Gallery on 17th October 2010. One to One with Infinity was later devised as a response to the idea of infinity and took place during my exhibition, The Infinity Box at the Belfry space, st John Bethnal Green. These performances were participatory with participants having, at some time, one-to-one encounter with either Sparkes or Sykorova. The performances referenced bureaucratic processes encountered at institutions, but equally subverting these to rather create a very personal experience more akin to counseling one to one appraisals.
Participants were issued with a number and came to a siting when their number was called.
