The Host Ghost was created for Theatrical Dynamics exhibition at Torrance Art Museum, Los Angeles. It was shown together with the work, Remember. THE END. also created for this exhibition. There is a suggested relationship between the two works, they seem almost like props left over from or waiting for human interaction. They are poised with an invitation to bring them into being. These works reflect my interest in artworks as objects, created and presented so as to suggest the potential for an extraordinary function or a symbolic narrative origin.
I am currently re-making the Host Ghost for an installation in ASC window space. This marionette, suspended from fishing wire demands imagined interaction from the viewer. I am re-imagineng it as a ghost curator, a proprietor overseeing a collection of my own work – a ghost archivist.
